Factory employee endures demanding manager for 2 years, writes exposé email to company and walks out 2 weeks before new job: ' She has a spreadsheet of all of the mistakes employees have made'

Bad bosses are one of the biggest reasons that people leave their jobs.

The logic is obvious: if the person who is technically in charge of you for a significant amount of hours a week does not seem to care about your well-being, you are very likely to be miserable. Even if most workplaces do not have our best interests at heart, it is in their interests to make sure that their supervisors appear as if they do.

That said, it is amazing how many managers still working today make it blatantly obvious that they either don't care about their employees or they make a point of working against them. Management offers a certain petty power that can appeal to the worst kind of people. Working under that is a horrible experience, especially when it feels like you have no alternative but to stay at that job. It isn't fair.

The one silver lining of experiencing a work environment like this is the feeling of relief that you have when you finally get to leave. If you have the opportunity to call out that terrible boss, it is even better. It is what they deserve, and if you don't do it, maybe nobody else will.

  • A factory worker had spent a miserable two years in her job due to the hard work and her demanding supervisor. This manager had a tendency to become angry and nasty when things didn't go her way, and she closely tracked all the mistakes of employees.

    The worker secured a role at another company to get out of this place, but was told that she couldn't take the amount of notice she needed to transition from one job to another. Her supervisor pushed her to the limit, so she decided that it was finally time to show her what she thought of her.
